University student, adventure addict, obsessive writer, and aspiring microbial engineer. Honestly, I'm pretty far into that whole finding yourself phase so those titles (and this site) have seen a lot of transition over the years.
I started Kattpress in 2016, my freshman year, as a student at a local community college. My family had just moved across the country, my friends were off at four-year universities all over the states, and I was suddenly paying rent, working a handful of odd jobs, and still trying to balance all this with my course work. I longed for advice on how to navigate the world of bills and midterms as my interests pulled me in seemingly every direction. When I couldn’t find quite what I was looking for, I decided to make it.
Kattpress is a collection of my own de novo musings, travel articles from adventures locally and overseas, and a portfolio with recent works across research, design, and photography. I’m glad you’ve made it to this chimera of the things that have come to matter most in my life. I hope to inspire readers to engage with a variety of passions, to interact with scientific innovations, and to feel comfortable navigating the professional world.
